MY DUBAI TRAVEL GUIDE in collaboration with Visit Dubai The most important thing when planning a trip to Dubai is: what time of the year are you visiting? That is relevant beause of two reasons: first one: the weather: it gets extremely hot in summer, which makes any outdoor activity – including a day at the beach – unbearable. So, when is the best time to visit? November-March the Ramadan! Most Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset during Ramadan. In Dubai it is illegal to eat, drink or smoke in public during the daylight hours. It is, however, perfectly fine to eat and drink in specially screened-off areas, such as food courts and hotel restaurants. Also good to know. Roaming prices can be really high, so i´d recommend you buy a SIM card there. When buying one you need to have your passport with you. You can buy them at the airport or at the mall. Most women are scared about the dressing code. Well, it is better than i though. You can wear pants, short pants or dresses, etc. the only thing , you have to show cultural respect by not showing too much, like for example your underwear or a big cleavage. Other than that, here some cool activities: Desert Safari. There are different companies that offer similar packages and activities. You can either start the day watching the sunrise from a hot air balloon or end it having a traditional Bedouin dinner. Most of the safaris also include a camel ride. Tip: most of the safaris offer group tours, so you won´t be alone, but with lots of other people. If you´re a photograoher, instagrammer or blogger, make sure to book a private desert tour. It allows you to have your own schedule and enough time to take the pictures you want ;) discover the Miracle Garden, a park with more than 45 million blooming flowers, some of them covering an oldairplane, some others in the most beautiful shapes. The heart shaped tunnel and Mickey Mouse are for sure the most photogenic ones. Tip: make sure it is open when you go, it usually closes in the summer month, as the plants would dry from the heat. It is usually open from October to the end of April, although this year was also open in May. another cool park to visit is Dubai´s Original Waterpark. It is great for family activities go to the top of the tallest buildingin the world!! Tip: book the tickets online. It is much easier and faster. Also, plan your shopping day after visiting Burj Khalifa because it is connected to the mall, so yes, you have them in the same place. Dubai has not only new, modern buildings, but also its original area: the old creek where you can see the traditional Dubai and the creeks. You can also do a boat tour. Tip: buy all the spices you can, they have hundreds of them, from dried fruits to locally-blended teas. It is too hot to visit in summer. The Aquarium at Atlantis the Palm is definitely a place to visit. It is designed around the theme of the Lost City of Atlantis and it has underwater tunnels, cool, right? explore the Madinat Jumeirah. It is a beautiful resort inspired by an ancient Arabic citadel. We actually stayed in one of the hotels in the resort and i can only recommend it. Not only for accomodation, but also to visit. Tip: go on a boat ride on the turquise water canals...picture perfect Talise Spa: the erfect place to relax Beaches: La Mer: has beautiful beaches and nice entertainment areas and it is the blogger choice when it comes to the perfect beach.
